Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 July 2026

OpenFloor ("we", "us", "our") provides real-time anonymous Q&A, polls, and audience engagement tools. This policy explains what information we collect when you use OpenFloor, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account data. If you create an OpenFloor account, we collect your email address and any profile details you provide.
  • Team invitations. If you invite a teammate to co-manage a session, we store the invitee's email address so we can match and track the invitation against their account once they sign in.
  • Session content. Questions, votes, poll and survey responses, and reactions submitted during a session are stored so the session can function and be reviewed afterwards.
  • Device fingerprint. When you submit a question or vote without an account, we generate an anonymous device fingerprint (a short identifier derived from your browser and device, not your identity) purely to stop the same device voting twice on a question. It is not linked to your name or email.
  • Payment information. Subscription payments are handled entirely by Stripe. OpenFloor never receives or stores your card details. Stripe shares only what is needed to manage your subscription (e.g. plan, billing status).

How we use this information

We use the data above to operate sessions in real time, deduplicate anonymous votes, manage your account and subscription, send account-related emails (such as password resets, via our authentication provider), and improve the reliability of the service. After you create an account we also send a short series of getting-started emails, which you can stop from a link in any of them. Team invitations are managed in-app rather than by email, and billing receipts are sent directly by Stripe.

How long we keep data

Session content (questions, votes, poll and survey responses) is retained for at least the period set by your plan: 7 days after a session ends on the Free tier, or 365 days on the Pro tier. It is automatically deleted after that point; if you would like it removed sooner, contact us at hello@openfloor.co. Account and billing records are kept for as long as your account is active, or as required by law.

Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share the minimum necessary information with the infrastructure providers that run OpenFloor: our database, authentication, and real-time messaging are hosted by Supabase, and subscription payments are processed by Stripe, and email is delivered by Resend. All three providers are bound by their own data protection agreements.

Cookies & local storage

OpenFloor uses browser storage to keep you signed in (your auth session) and to remember preferences such as theme or accessibility settings. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You can delete your account and everything it owns at any time from the Account section of your dashboard settings. You can also request access to, or deletion of, the personal data we hold about you by contacting us at hello@openfloor.co.
